Our culture creates a sense of estrangement from the body.
This separation from our physical selves, our bodies, is directly related to
our cultural separation from the natural world and our communities and has
resulted in a cultural trauma of disconnection and isolation. The first step in
healing that trauma, is to come home to ourselves.
Sacred Vessel is an introduction to sacred, embodied,
movement that will help each of us begin to rebuild our connection to our
bodies and our hearts. Through moving meditation, contemplative movement, and
physical mindfulness we can learn to come home to our Sacred Vessel, our body.
In coming home to our bodies, we home to ourselves, to nature, our community, and our world.
The workshop exercises include meditation, guided and
exploratory movement, as well a time for journaling and the sharing of
experience in a safe and supportive environment. Attendees will also be given techniques they
can continue to use at home to further develop their own embodiment practice.
Many of the workshop exercises have live music
accompaniment.
This workshop is open to adults (18+) of all genders.
The workshop is limited to 16 participants.
